Key Points In Feng Shui

Here we have some of the key points that you need to know, the basics of Feng Shui.

Bagua. Also known as the Bagua Map, this is the Feng Shui energy map and has nine areas. The areas all refer and focus to a particular life area.

Chi. The life force and main energy. A key component when it comes to your home, it’s layout and overall design.

Commanding Position. This is the room that is located furthest away from the front door and is the main room where you will spend most of your time.

Yin and Yang. The balance between two forces. Think Light and Dark. Masculine and Feminine – an overall balance.

The Bagua Areas.

Briefly mentioned above, the Bagua is an energy map and has nine areas. The nine sections or areas are also known as Guas.

Observe and see which of the areas you feel needs the most attention and work.

Please don’t work on all the areas at once as this can leave you feeling very unsettled.

You can work on one or two areas and make sure that each segment and your surroundings work and flow for you.

Energy works and flows through all surroundings so the Chi needs to reach all parts of your surroundings, going through many of the other areas too.

Strengthen your energy and work on each area, individually. Work on particular rooms one-by-one.

If you would like to work on more than one area, please get in touch with us and we will be happy to help you.

The Bagua Areas and Zones.

Bagua Maps can be worked as a square or an octagon. This is the energy grid that you lay over a floor plan.

You can use the map for your entire home however it can also be placed and worked on over a single room. Any size and any style of home.

Energy shrinks and expands.

You can find more detailed articles and information on our website, We Love Feng Shui – including decoration for Feng Shui, Colour Therapy and much more but below, we have some of our top tips.

Decluttering. Essential in Feng Shui. Remove unwanted items and declutter all spaces. This helps to cleanse negative and unwanted energy.

Plants. Choose soft and round (or rounded) leaves for your plants. Soft edges help the energy glow and help to nourish the energy within your home and natural environment. We do not recommend using fake plants.

Broken Items. Anything broken or chipped needs to be removed and replaced. Holding on to energy and causing disruptions within the space.

Colours. Use colours and elements that align with the Bagua Map and strengthen specific zones you’re looking to improve. If you’d like help, please get in touch.

Energy Flow. The energy needs to flow throughout all spaces in an effortless way. Creating harmony and balance. Doors (apart from the bathroom), passages and hallways should be kept open for ease of energy flow – a flowing route.

Maximise Natural Light. Natural light is essential. Make use of natural lighting to enhance the energy and space immediately. Open windows in the morning to refresh the energy.
